HOW TO PREPARE FOR MY VISIT TO YOUR SCHOOL My presentation checklist for your preparation: 1. A quality sound system with 1 microphone. This is the KEY to a successful presentation! If you feel your system is poor, it is worth it to rent/borrow a better system. 2. I will report to the main office 20 to 30 minutes prior to the presentation time. Please have a student leader or staff member available to greet me. 3. I have accommodated audiences in all seating situations: chairs, bleachers, floor: 25 to 1500 students. 4. When promoting me to your students please do not refer to me as a "motivational" speaker as I find that this causes a negative anticipation of my talk. Please use words like "entertaining", "exciting" or a "unique" presentation. 5. A cheque for the fee, payable to “Andy Thibodeau Programs Inc” is due on the presentation date. 6. I will provide a typed introduction for one of your student leaders to use in the assembly. It is also available on this website. 7. The presentation will run 40 to 65 minutes; depending on the time you give me. I prefer 60 minutes. 8. FAX THE SIGNED CONTRACT AND DIRECTIONS TO YOUR SCHOOL TO 1-866-212-4559, as soon as possible please. 9. Pages 3 & 4 of my contract is a summary of my school assembly. It is an excellent idea to provide each teacher with this hand out and suggest a 20 to 30 minute debrief immediately following my program. As in point #5 above please don’t have this summary provided to the students as the element of “surprise” helps me. If you have misplaced this summary, email me, and I can send you a copy. 10. To contact me while I am on the road, use my cellular at 519-851-3014. The Student Workshop Checklist (if chosen) 1. The Workshop is appropriate for 30 to 175 student leaders that can be involved in a wide area of leadership activities: students' council, yearbook, clubs, councils, charity organizations, team captains, peer helpers, or potential leaders chosen by your staff. 2. The presentation is 45 to 120 minutes long and does not require a microphone. Most workshops are 60 to 75 minutes. 3. Participants will be given a handout for you to copy. I suggest that executive leaders take notes. 4. I highly recommend the participation of the leadership group advisors in this presentation, as it will help follow-up on the message of our workshop.
