BACKGROUND

Andy’s educational journey is marked by exceptional leadership, academic excellence, and deep community involvement. At Nicholas Wilson Elementary/Middle School, he served as Student Council Vice President and graduated as the top academic male in the Class of 1984. At Sir Wilfrid Laurier Secondary School, he was Student Council President, founding president of the Community Club, a letterman athlete in football and track, and was voted Valedictorian of the Class of 1989. He earned the Ernie McTavish Award as the school’s top graduate for his contributions and led Laurier to be crowned Canada’s Most Spirited High School in the national MOGA contest. In 2005, Laurier named him its most outstanding graduate in school history, and in 2016, he was honoured as a “Top 50 at Fifty Years” alumnus. At King’s University College at Western University, Andy made the Dean’s Honour List each year, graduated with a degree in history in 1993, and was known for his spirited leadership as a three-time orientation leader, including serving as the 1992 Coordinator.
