Andy's Impact Presentations
for
Colleges & Universities
Andy’s
presentations run approximately 45-90 minutes in length, based on
your needs. He also offers skills-based leadership workshops that
compliment the messages of his keynotes. These presentations are
based on his experiences as a former university student leader, as a
speaker traveling
North
America, and as a successful entrepreneur in the field of leadership and
personal development. Andy’s
specific experiences at the University of Western Ontario (London,
Canada) as a student, an Orientation Week leader (1990-1992) and as a
leadership consultant (1993 to present) give him excellent background
for these sessions.
Andy’s
IMPACT presentations are perfect for:
Orientation leaders training; Orientation Week entertainment; students’
council/residence council training and motivation; residence staff
programs; a special evening for a faculty or residence; awards banquets;
a “thank you” program for campus volunteers; presenting to a specific
class; leadership conferences; presentations open to the entire student
body.
KEYNOTE
PRESENTATIONS
Keynote
presentations offer motivation, thoughtful insight, and humorous
reflections through Andy’s unique high-energy delivery. Keynotes are not
"note-taking" sessions and have a higher "entertainment" element than a
workshop.
1. SHARE YOUR CARE
Andy uses
powerful and hilarious stories to highlight the power of the individual
to make a difference. He opens with an inspiring piece on using your
“recess mentality” to deal with stress in leadership and life. Andy
then reminds us "If care is contagious, it has to start with you!" As
leaders, we must be a model of caring for others to follow!
2.
SUCCESS KEYS - Unlocking Your Dreams in the 21st Century!
Andy
motivates his audience by reminding us that despite this great era of
change, the keys to success have yet to change! Using his life story and
insights of his friends across the continent, Andy points out that
tomorrow's success starts with commitments made today. His 5 success
keys are: Do more = get more, Share Your Care
, don’t give up, Friends and
family are everything, Set goals and focus on the future.
3.
ORIENTATION WEEK INSPIRATIONS – For Orientation & Residence Staff
This
presentation is perfect for orientation and residence staff training and
motivation. Drawing on his 3 years of experiences as a University
orientation week organizer, Andy powerfully reminds your staff of the
fun, impact and responsibilities that their position carries. Additional
themes include commitment, teamwork, motivation, and handling stress.
He also empowers your staff with games and activities to help them make
the first year students feel welcome at your school!
4.
ORIENTATION WEEK INSPIRATIONS – For First Year Students
“I was
there!” is the running theme throughout this hilarious and powerful
talk. Drawing on his experiences, Andy brings an atmosphere of trust,
openness and fun when most needed by your students. He tells first year
students that it’s okay to feel a little out of place but that the
feeling is only going to get better by taking action. Additional themes
include: do more and you get more, making this place “home”, let
yourself learn and have fun!
LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS
Andy’s
workshops educate through the use of humour, energy, and personal
stories to breathe life into the material. These sessions are more
appropriate for formalized settings.
1. "CAN I
COUNT ON YOU?" - Building Your Reliability
This
session addresses the concepts of "time management" from a unique and
very interesting perspective. Trust is the foundation for loving
families, fun friendships, spirited students' councils, successful
businesses, and effective leaders. Yet people earn the trust of another
by being reliable. Andy offers useful and immediately applicable advice
on improving your reliability. Through his insights, he demonstrates how
increased reliability improves one's time management!
2. “LET’S
TALK!” - Effective Communication Skills
Get
"excited" about your next speaking opportunity! This session draws on
Andy's massive speaking experience, ranging from high school pep
rallies, university orientation weeks to adult programs across North
America. He offers hands-on insight on: overcoming "the fear" (and how
it is linked to self esteem), putting more "you" into all of your
communication, using the "power of the positive", and how to "visualize"
your improved speaking performances. Andy's ideas are applicable whether
you're communicating with one person or one thousand.
