Andy Leads the "Dexterity Check" Cheer
I first learned this cheer in 1988 when I was a grade 12 student leader and participated in OSSSA student leadership conferences. It has been my most popular cheer since the start of my career. Simple, low-risk, and impressive in how it sounds, I use it in all of my school and conference programs for all age groups. The end I change based on the audience. Either a "Woo" cheer, OR, the group yells out their school mascot, is this case, "Warriors!" With any cheer, take what you like and then add your unique touch. This was filmed before over 4000 first year students in 2011 during Orientation Week at the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. My largest audience EVER! Each year this great school brings me in for at least one event, and, for four years in a row, I was their Orientation keynote speaker.

Wilfrid Laurier University

This next clip gives you a unique perspective just behind me as I inspire 1500+ first year students at Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario. Filmed in 2013. I have been blessed to be the keynote speaker during Orientation week at WLU every year since 2006. The 3000 or so first year students are spread across two assemblies. I have posted this because it gives you an idea of the incredible energy, spirit, and cooperation of the amazing students at this impressive school. WLU Waterloo and WLU Brantford have me speak EVERY Year to their first year students because my messages of involvement in activities, academic success, volunteering, and school spirit meet the goals of the school's administration, faculty and student leaders. Let me bring this energy to your school or event!

Andy Leads the "Fire It Up" Cheer
A simple and fun spirit cheer that can be used by any school. I first learned it at my Alma Mater, Western University, London. Filmed in 2012 at Hampton High School, Hampton, New Brunswick, home of the Huskies! When you book my presentations, I empower your leaders with both the tools and the training to improve school spirit and participation!

Andy Leads the "Iron 'Em Out" Cheer
|
This was the official school cheer of my high school,
Laurier in London. I first heard it in early grade 9, led by our inspiring Vice
Principal, Dr. Al Harrington. It’s a simple low-risk cheer that is perfect for
games and rallies. We ended with the word "smooth." At your school,
you can end with your mascot name. Filmed in 2014 at the Avon Maitland School
Board (Stratford, Goderich area of Ontario) student leadership workshop.

Andy Leads "18 Wheels on a Big Rig" Cheer
I got the idea for this from a song sung on the Bob & Tom radio show in the USA. I added the crowd participation element of getting up to five volunteers to yell 1 to 18 in a different language. I always end with Roman Numerals. A fantastic activity to show appreciation for the diversity of an audience. Filmed at the Peel District School Board (high schools in Mississauga and Brampton, Ontario) leadership camp, 2012.

Andy Leads the "Ohh Ahh" Cheer
University of Waterloo, 4000+ people
|
I first heard speaker Phil Boyte do a version of "Ohh Ahh" way back in 1999. I could not remember how he did it but I created my own version. This includes my unique touches of adding a hip hop beat and concluding with "We Will Rock You." With any cheer, take what you like and then add your unique touch. This was filmed before over 4000 first year students in 2011 during Orientation Week at the University of Waterloo, Waterloo, Ontario, Canada. Each year this great school brings me in for at least one event, and, for four years in a row, I was their Orientation keynote speaker.

I have been blessed to be the keynote speaker during Orientation week at Wilfrid Laurier University, Waterloo, Ontario, every year since 2006. Typically, the 3000 or so students are spread across two assemblies. In 2011, the year of this filming, poor weather forced everyone inside for a high energy 90 minute program that I lead. King's University College, Western University

This cheers works with over 4000 people, as my other videos show. It also works with any group over 30. I had to post this as the setting is my Alma Mater, King's University College at Western University, London, Ontario. I am the Class of 1993. Every year since 1997 I have returned on the Labour Day Monday to be the welcome speaker as part of Orientation Week. This speech, as well as my annual speech to the grads of my high school, Laurier Secondary in London, are my two greatest honours in my career. To be asked back each year by your high school and university is the ultimate compliment to a professional speaker. I am so blessed ... thank you!

Andy Leads the "Tarzan" Cheer
I first heard this cheer from my friend Sunjay at the YLCC camp in 1993. It quickly became my favourite and one that has been linked to me ever since. The Charlie line was created by a Charlie that worked as a YLCC camp counsellor for us in BC in 1995. The Rocky line was taught to me by my friends at the Woodeden Easter Seals camp. This is a fun cheer that would probably not work at high schools but is good for leadership conferences, camps and kids under grade 6.

Andy Leads the "Ram Sam Sam" Cheer
One of my favourites, it’s a hilarious addition to a student leadership conference program for ages 10-25. The words, " a ram sam , a ram sam sam, gooley gooley, a ram sam sam." I learned this cheer at a conference a long time ago. Filmed August 2014 as part of my orientation leaders training program at Wilfrid Laurier University, Brantford, Ontario.
