ANDY’S PRESENTATIONS FOR CAMPS AND RECREATION GROUPS

Andy’s keynote presentations run approximately 50-75 minutes in length, based on your needs. He also offers leadership workshops that compliment the messages of his keynotes. These presentations are based on his experiences as a camp owner and counselor, as a speaker traveling North America, and as a successful entrepreneur in the field of leadership and personal development.

Andy’s specific experiences owning and operating a youth leadership camp gives him excellent background for these sessions. Andy’s camp, Youth Leadership Camps Canada (YLCC), was based in the London area from 1993 to 2003. YLCC is an Ontario Camping Association (OCA) accredited program and he was a camp co-director for 4 years. YLCC continues to this day in Orillia, Ontario under the direction of Stu Saunders at www.ylcc.com.

All programs feature icebreakers, songs, cheers and games to keep your staff enthusiastic and interested. Andy will teach your leaders some new activities that they can use at your camp!

 WHO USES ANDY’S IMPACT PRESENTATIONS?

Andy’s IMPACT programs have been used in the following recreational leadership and camp staff training settings:
Recreation leaders training; mid-summer camp staff motivation; Camp counselor training, “thank you events” at summer’s end; conferences for professionals in recreation and camp programs; colleges that offer recreational leadership courses.

 KEYNOTE PRESENTATION

A keynote presentation offers motivation, thoughtful insight, and humorous reflections through Andy’s unique high-energy delivery. Keynotes are not "note-taking" sessions and have a higher "entertainment" element than a workshop. Presentation length can be adjusted to your needs.

 SHARE YOUR
CARE

“Share Your Care ” is a perfect message for recreation leaders and camp staff prior to the summer. Drawing on his experiences as a camp director and university leader, Andy powerfully reminds your staff of the fun, impact and responsibilities that their position carries. Additional themes include commitment, teamwork, motivation, and handling stress. You can also use this presentation as a mid-summer motivational for your group!

 LEADERSHIP WORKSHOPS

Andy’s workshops educate through the use of humour, energy, and personal stories to breathe life into the material. These sessions are more appropriate for formalized settings.

 1. "CAN I COUNT ON YOU?" - Building Your Reliability
This session addresses the concepts of "time management" from a unique and very interesting perspective. Trust is the foundation for loving families, fun friendships, spirited students' councils, successful businesses, and effective leaders. Yet people earn the trust of another by being reliable. Andy offers useful and immediately applicable advice on improving your reliability. Through his insights, he demonstrates how increased reliability improves one's time management!

 2. “LET’S
TALK!” - Effective Communication Skills
Get "excited" about your next speaking opportunity! This session draws on Andy's massive speaking experience, ranging from high school pep rallies, university orientation weeks to adult programs across North America. He offers useful insight on: overcoming "the fear" (and how it is linked to self esteem), putting more "you" into all of your communication, using the "power of the positive", and how to "visualize" your improved speaking performances. Andy's ideas are applicable whether you're communicating with one person or one thousand!

 3. “COMMUNICATING
CARE TO KIDS!” - Effective Communication Skills Version 2
This highly interactive workshop is second version of the “Let’s Talk” program. In this, the focus is on the power of words in communicating care and concern for the children in our programs. Camp leaders share statements and “power words” that can form the basis of their conversations with kids. Leaders become aware that their little efforts everyday to watch they way they talk to kids. This can make a massive impact in the camper’s enjoyment of our programs.

 4. “RECESS ATTITUDE!” Icebreakers and interaction!
Do you need a 10 to 60 minute block of time filled with cheers, large group games, and icebreakers? Andy can easily provide a hilarious session that will get all of your participants on their feet to laugh, cheer and meet each other! It will be a great source of new material for your leaders!

Expect all presentations will feature a mix of cheers and icebreakers to keep your leaders laughing and interacting!
