"Life and Faith" Video
On April 2nd, 2006, I appeared on the A-Channel (the main TV channel in
my home town of London, Ontario) program, "Life and Faith". It is an
excellent 10 minute interview regarding my church's week long mission
trip to Mississippi to help rebuild after the hurricanes. This
interview gives you an excellent idea of what I do in the community and
how I can translate my experiences into powerful stories and motivating
insight. Reverend John Bannerman joins me in the interview and I thank
Doug Croden and Anchor Video for providing this interview segment.
Enjoy!
"June 1, 1989. Midnight MOGA at Andy's high
school"
In Andy's leadership programs, he often references a national school
spirit contest called the MOGA. The "Most Outrageous Group Activity"
was sponsored by the Government and Fitness Canada and featured
judges from these groups and the Much Music TV station. With his
great friend Stu Saunders, Andy organized his school's (Sir Wilfrid
Laurier Secondary in London) MOGA in 1988 and 1989. In 1988, their
"Aqua MOGA" placed 4th in Canada!
In 1989, Laurier was crowned the Most Spirited school in Canada when
their Midnight MOGA was named champion!

The first few minutes chronicles the hilarious and fun afternoon pep
rally that promoted the evening event. This is the example of
the perfect pep rally: Sports stars leading cheers, music people
singing a song, rappers rapping, cool class clowns doing a skit
(poking fun at our rival Catholic School, RMC), senior students
showing dance moves (for the dance that night), and a rock band
playing Ghostbusters. All cliques and groups in the school were
represented in the pep rally! No wonder over 80% of the school came
out that night!
Next, see how this high school was transformed into a Haunted House!
First watch the official poster child of the Children's Miracle
Network Telethon, with her family and local media, be the first to
walk through.
Next, laugh as the students take their turn to go through. Almost
1200 of 1400 students showed up! The screams you hear are genuine!
It was dark, foggy in parts, and we had surprises hidden everywhere!
After you went through the haunted halls, they end up a massive
dance. The "Monster Mash Bash" featured the entire group doing an
aerobic dance to the song the Monster Mash.
Andy talks about "Making Care Contagious" and improving school
spirit because he had the priviledge of leading a school that was
incrediably successful in caring and spirit. Let Andy's insights
help your school's leaders "Get their Care ... out THERE!"
